Some friends and family really show their generosity by showering you and your fiance’ with gifts and monetary contributions before your wedding. Should you send thank you notes? Absolutely! Is there thank you card etiquette? Yes there is! Thank you card etiquette includes when you should send your thank you and what you should express in your thank you notes. I always recommend personalizing your thank you note. It is much more meaningful and shows you especially appreciate the giver’s gift.
So, when should you send thank you cards? Thank you cards should be sent as soon as you receive the gift or within 2 weeks after receipt of the gift. Be sure to express in your note what the gift was, how much you appreciate it, and in what way you’ll utilize the gift. Show your enthusiam! A thank you note is also the perfect time to include an engagement picture or wedding picture. Your guests will appreciate the special touch. In our quest to maintain long and happy marriages perhaps it helps to reexamine our vows every so often. Why? It helps ensure that we treat our significant other as we promised when we said ‘I Do’. We have to ask are we treating each other like kings and queens? Or are we taking each other for granted? Do we go out of our way to love, honor and respect our partner?
Do you find your vows help maintain your relationship? If so how?

I love the cute little Match Book makeup kits from TINte Cosmetics! The Match Book includes two eye shadows, cream eyeliner, blush, two lip glosses and two brushes. It also includes a guide for those of us that need help with applying ‘the look’. How cute is that?!
Give them to your attendants as gifts or keep them for yourself.

Need help determining which kitchen items you should include in your registry? Perhaps you or your fiance’ have some old beat up pots and pans that are really better at burning than cooking your food? Your wedding registry is a great time to take stock of what new kitchen items you could use in your newlywed kitchen. Kim O’Donnel of A Mighty Appetite wrote tips on what to consider when combining kitchens and a few brides provided their suggestions as well.
My husband and I really love our set of grill tools from Williams-Sonoma, as well as the long grill mitt. Other items we can’t live without include our mini prep from Cuisinart and the bar tools, and various bar glassware for his dream bar.
Comment below on what you think are the perfect kitchen items to register for.

Treat your wedding day hair with as much attention to detail as you give to other aspects of your wedding. Don’t wait til the day of the wedding to experiment with how you want your hair to look that day. Do take the time to do a trial hair run. Our friends over at Balance Photo have a great and very thorough post on things to consider and what to look for when it comes to wedding day hair. Follow these tips and avoid the hairstylist from hell.

We always encourage our clients to allow themselves several days before going on their honeymoon. In fact many couples love the idea. This pre-honeymoon time allows you to have more time celebrating with friends and family at a post wedding brunch, picnic, or other event the next day(s). It’s the perfect time to view those images you missed that someone else caught on camera. It also ensures that you’ve had time to relax from all of the last minute wedding details. The result is a more enjoyable honeymoon.
