Food & Wine Festival at National Harbor

Are you looking for something fun to do with your significant other? Today I spent a fun filled day at the Food & Wine Festival at National Harbor. The weather was gorgeous and we were right by the water. Food, drinks, music, celebrity chefs, seminars and so much more. The festival is going on tomorrow as well. I was so happy I met Carla Hall and Ariane Duarte from Top Chef. Carla and Ariane are so down to earth and allowed me to take pictures with them. While at the festival I found alot of nice products that I will be posting about as time allows. One of my favorite and simply delicious finds today was a line of designer ice cream flavors (all vegan) from Wheeler’s Frozen Desserts. This ice cream is dairy free and has less calories than regular ice cream. It is true ladies. Get your ice cream fix and still fit in your wedding or bridesmaid dress. I tried this strawberry frozen dessert and I had to go back for seconds. I was tempted to lick the bowl. I am not playing. Needless to say I wanted to know how I could get my hands on my own personal pint or two. They told me they’re in Boston, MA. Hunh? How can the frozen dessert gods be so cruel?
I found out I don’t have to go all the way to Massachusetts to get my ice cream. Thank gosh! They have a book called Vegan Scoop that has all of the recipes in it that we can make at home. Your girlfriends will love you when you provide them with a book of sinful delicious frozen dessert recipes and they can still fit in their jeans.
