I Saved a Wedding with One Phone Call
Posted by Zuriana on August 11, 2009
They say truth is stranger than fiction. It’s true what they say…Saturday 8/8/09 was the biggest challenge I have ever faced in my six years of wedding planning. Security guards were going to stop a wedding ceremony before it ever began.
To set the scene: the bride was almost ready. She was putting on her dress. Guests were seated in the ceremony room while the harpist played beautiful music. The groom and groomsmen were waiting patiently in their own room. Everyone was smiling with anticipation and excited.
Out of nowhere security guards came into the bride’s dressing room accusing the couple of bringing food and especially alcohol onto the premises. Things were spiraling out of control. It was utter madness. I kept my head, and tried to put out the raging flames…. Eventually I made a decision that saved the ceremony. I made a call to the director of the facility. The ceremony went on as planned although 40 minutes late.
None of the guests was aware of the drama that had been unfolding down the hall. The wedding and reception were beautiful…
And I was relieved that I had dodged a bullet. I now have a story to share for many years to come. Yes you received the super abbreviated version of the story above.
Please…when you hire a Wedding Planner ensure they are experienced enough to handle a wedding day emergency. I’m off to my next challenge.
