Congratulations on planning the first day of the rest of your lives together!

‘How do we get started planning our wedding?’  That’s the same thing I asked when my future husband proposed.  Start by taking time to savor your engagement.  When you’re ready to start planning your wedding it is important to set a realistic budget.  What do you feel comfortable paying for your wedding?  Will any relatives contribute financially to the wedding?  Maybe one family member is willing to pay for the ceremony and/or reception venue, someone else might gift you a wedding cake or cupcakes, one contributes to transportation, one for flowers, or maybe many will chip in and pay for the catering, while others will contribute to your honeymoon.

Next, think about where you want to get married.  Will you marry in your home town or will you have a destination wedding?  Choose a date.   While Saturdays are a popular day to wed, another day of the week equates to a considerable savings.  Time of year can also mean a cost savings as well.

Once you’ve taken all of the above into consideration, interview and hire a professional Wedding Planner to guide you through the wedding planning process.  He or she will save you time, money, stress, provide invaluable resources, share their expertise all while ensuring you enjoy planning your wedding.

Happy planning!

P.S.  We’re excited for you!  Time flies so fast…enjoy the time leading up to your wedding.  The next time you look up you’ll be happily married and planning your vow renewal!
